Did You Know?
The American Diabetes Association® recommends that all people with diabetes test their glucose levels at least once daily. Using a glucose meter is the most accurate way to do this. If you have diabetes and fall into one of the following categories, you can benefit from checking blood glucose levels:
- If you are taking insulin or diabetes pills
- If you are on intensive insulin therapy
- If you are pregnant
- If you are having a difficult time controlling blood glucose levels
- If you are having severe low blood glucose levels or ketones from high blood glucose levels
- If you are having low blood glucose levels without the usual warning signs
Klingensmith's Drug Store recommends the WaveSense Presto™ testing meter. Zero-Click™ data management software is available and fully compatible with the WaveSense Presto™. This software allows users and health care professionals to easily download results from WaveSense™ enabled glucose meters. Using this software, your doctor can help identify trends in your numbers which will help you manage your diabetes more easily.

The American Diabetes Association® also states that people with diabetes are at a higher risk of gum disease. You should get regular check-ups and be sure to let your dentist know you are diabetic. In the meanwhile, you can follow these easy steps to help avoid gum disease:
- Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps produce saliva, which helps neutralize harmful bacteria that causes gum disease
- Brush and floss your teeth at least twice per day
- Use an American Dental Association® approved mouth rinse
- Maintain a healthy diet - which also helps control your diabetes
Klingensmith's Drug Stores offers a variety of name brand oral hygiene products such as toothpaste, floss, mouth rinse, etc... but for an even better value, why not try our Quality Choice (QC) brand products? If you aren't 100% satisfied with the QC brand, simply return it for a refund.
